Break hru   Bash

Our Breakthru Bashes typically take place the 3rd Sunday of the month. After the all church potluck we head out to play lazertag, go bowling, try out a corn maze or some other fun activity. You can read here about a recent bash for our youth.

We will have a picnic lunch followed by rentals of paddleboats, canoes and sailboats for an hour or two. Afterwards, the teens will go on a geocaching quest and if we have enough time, the guys will challenge the girls in an orienteering hunt.

You may ask what is geocaching (pronounced geo-cashing). There are over 18,000 hidden caches in 121 countries. It's like trying to find a pirate's treasure, but instead of using a map -- you have coordinates and use a GPS to track it down. There is one hidden in Bond Park filled with loot and we'll try to find it.

There is also an orienteering course set up at Bond park. Armed with a topography map and Orienteering map a compass, each team will race through the woods to find the markers that have been put in place. Winning team gets to throw the losers in the lake (well, maybe).

See you there. Bring some friends. Cost is $5 per person.

Leapin' Lizards, orienteering is fun
